ARTHUR MURRAY CENTRAL NEW JERSEY OFFERING FREE DANCE LESSONS FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL
Complimentary, on the house, free of charge. You read that correctly. Arthur Murray of Green Brook is offering free beginner group classes to the public for select days in April!
But why the free lessons? Seems suspicious. Is it really free?
Yes! No strings attached. To celebrate the coming warm weather, we’re Spring-ing into dance! Central New Jersey is inviting the surrounding community to dance with Arthur Murray at an open house on April 20th (also free). Up until then, Green Brook is offering free classes to anyone with an inkling to learn, so that new students have some steps under their belt and take full advantage of the live salsa band that will be in the studio on the 20th, alongside a professional DJ.
Not only that, but the open house will also feature performances by dance professionals, door prizes for students and guests, and grand prize raffle drawing for all the students who bring guests — the more guest you bring the more chances you have to win.
What’s all the hullabaloo for? The Green Brook location is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and what better way to celebrate than to invite new friends to a dance party? This open house is the third of a series of open houses thrown by Central New Jersey to show appreciation for the wonderful communities that have been home to our studios for many years and share the love of dance with those who have not discovered it yet.
Ok, so you’ve decided to take a leap of faith and show up to your first ballroom dance lesson (yes, the free one).
What you’ll need:
An Open Mind
Mistakes will be made, that’s nothing special. You’re not the only one that’s going to feel silly when your body isn’t doing what your brain tells it. Rest assured, it gets better with a little time and patience. The hardest part is showing up!
Shoes without rubber soles and clothes you feel comfortable and confident in.
Show your style in your attire and your moves.
Move those feet and ask questions!
There are teachers there to answer any questions you may have — and most likely somebody else is wondering the same thing. A new step may feel awkward to you at first, but you’ll be in a safe space surrounded by other beginners who are in the same boat.
Be patient — with yourself and others.
Shake it off, and don’t be afraid to laugh.
Most importantly, have fun! It’s just dancing, after all.
Dates of the free lessons: April 14th at 12:30 pm, April 17th at 8:15 pm, April 19th at 7:30 pm, and April 20th at 7:30 pm, before the general dancing and festivities kick into full swing.
Here’s the link to the event page. Everyone is invited!
